About Us
FAHE Consulting, just one of the social enterprises established by the Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprises (FAHE), provides professional, comprehensive planning and technical services to help communities achieve more. FAHE envisions Appalachia as a place proud of sustaining its culture and environment, where growth, opportunity and hope are balanced so that all people fulfill their potential with regard to housing, employment, educational opportunity and quality of life. To further this vision of the Appalachian region, FAHE established FAHE Consulting in 2005 to complement the advocacy and capital resources provided to its network of Appalachian organizations.
Although FAHE Consulting is as newly established as a wholly-owned subsidiary, FAHE and its staff have dedades of demonstrated skill and experience in supplementing community development projects through consulting relationships. In all, FAHE managed the development of $30 million in consulting projects before spinning off its consulting division. The creation of FAHE Consulting marks FAHE's commitment to strengthening the capacity of communities to make a positive impact.
Since inception, FAHE Consulting has successfull funded $45 million in new projects in Kentucky, ranging from senior housing to water treatment facilities. We specialize in planning and managing projects using state and federal programs from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Rural Development, like Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), and the HOME Program. Our technical services include overseeing compliance with federal and state regulations in contracting, accounting, client engagement and audits. Looking to the future, FAHE Consulting is expanding to offer similar services to communities in Tennessee.
